Raynaud - white cold fingers and what you can do about it with TCM

Cause and effect

In traditional Chinese medicine, doctors were traditionally paid if they kept their patients healthy. If their patients became ill, they had not done their job properly.

Healers (also modern-day doctors) who prescribe pills get paid for treating the consequences. They were seen as inferior by the 'olds'.

From the annals of Lu Buwei, 3rd century BC.

This week I had a client with Raynaud.
You know that, cold white fingers with no blood flow? I've had it happen before, but the last time was about 20 years ago. They call this phenomenon Raynaud's disease. I think they can leave out the word disease, because that's not what it is at all if you know the cause.

The cause of Raynaud's

Raynaud's is caused by cold and/or intense emotion. If you can place the emotion, you have come a long way. You can add something to that, for example seek warmth from someone you love and immerse yourself in a warm blanket of cuddly toys. The cold in your body and fingers can easily be solved by leaving the yoghurt in the morning and instead eating porridge, eggs (boiled, fried, omelette, poached) soup or pancakes, for example. So by eating warmer food, preferably in the morning, afternoon and evening. Don't leave yourself out in the cold, but keep yourself warm both physically and mentally. Then Raynaud could soon be a thing of the past.

Do you see the Raynaud in the 2nd photo? The index and middle fingers.
